Trump never said that. He suggested that they were "bad for peace", but never said to stop building them.

And one of the OP's favorite rags, the Washington Compost, claims the following:

Shaul Mitelpunk (another self-hater) will not acknowledge that the settlements are perfectly legal under the Oslo Accords. Area C is Israeli land.
