As the ability to think deeply and accept various paradoxes is reduced by a variety of 21st century factors (though founded in previous centuries), everything, more and more, is considered either awesome or terrible. Anything such as capitalism that, once come to be perceived by the sober-minded as mostly good if not totally awesome, ends up in the "bad" category because of its various shortcomings.Along these lines, I sometimes get warned by someone asking me to take a survey regarding their effectiveness / service that their higher-ups take anything less than the highest rating as unacceptable. I'm not sure if they are lying about that in order to guilt me into giving the highest rating or if they're telling the truth. |
