The working class voted for Crowley.Ocasio-Cortez got 57.5% of the vote. It wasn't close She took Crowley's Woodside base by an even greater margin. Here's a link to a map (at bottom of article) that shows the geographical split. The map's caption notes: "Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez won big in parts of Steinway, Sunnyside and Jackson Heights." These are working class and ethnic neighborhoods. Crowley's base shifted towards East Elmhurst, which is mostly black. |
