Real estate prices in the area were going thru the roof. Local residents would have been priced out of the market. In LIC, the latest listing (Pre Amazon back out) were for one bedroom apts starting at $1 Mil. That would be a tad steep for locals to buy into once there non rent controlled/stableized leases were up. |
