In order to suffer complete cardiopulmonary failure, a person's airway must be compressed to the point where the volume of air entering it is no longer sufficient to sustain breathing. For most people, that means a 90% obstruction.I will grant for the moment that Garner's ill health may have caused him to suffocate with a less compromised airway, but that still doesn't change the fact that Garner died because his trachea was being forced shut. That shouldn't ever have occurred to begin with. |
