US average consumption is 9.2 liters per year of pure alcohol per person aged 15+ That's 25 ml per day (almost an ounce) per person aged 15+. So of course there are lots of alcoholics who are doing 10 or 20 times the national average. But it sure suggests there are a lot of regular casual drinkers too. |
