Americans have the sticker shock of healthcare as it is, and what we're also not talking about is why aren't we incorporating the cost of all the funeral expenses of those who died because they can't afford access to healthcare? That is part of the cost of our system."Ocasio-Cortez is absolutely correct about this. I've had friends who died because they couldn't afford healthcare. There is nothing "extreme" or "radical" about her words here. It should be noted that no country that has implemented universal health care, has ever taken it away, period. What is "extreme", is that here, human life is measured only in terms of dollar value, profit, and social status. That young kid in Queens has it right. |
