Interesting that you mentioned Janus as the decision on this landmark case may come down as early as today or no later than weeks end. At stake are the very existence of public sector employee unions. Employees now are not forced to join unions but are forced to essentially pay union dues even if they don't opt to join. But it seems that there is a secondary issue that is shaking our political system. Public unions use large portions of their enormous wealth to support political, usually Democratic, candidates. If the Supreme Court rules against public sector unions, Democrats could be the real losers here. |
