I hear many freight railroads are hiring. Check out their websites. You got a GED? Thats all the education you need to get your foot in the door. Get hired (after passing piss test with basic physical & eye exam) stay clean & sober, show up on time, don't get hurt, don't punch out any cranky trainmasters, eat shit for a few years being on the extra list working all over the clock and their territory & after 5-6 or so years, you'll have a steady job w/regular days off...and pulling down close to $100k a year with great benefits. BTW, having a clean record, good credit rating & no speeding tickets also a big help. |
