No, it was an honest one. Why do you think I attend events where the anthem is played? Fact is, I don't. I would likely leave the room as I don't know what I'd do. I'm not a nationalist. I haven't recited the pledge of allegiance since sixth grade, and nobody ever said shit to me or my parents about it throughout school. So I don't know. I would just leave until it’s over. Not my bailiwick.The anthem is generally not played at concerts. Or movies. Or the theatre. It certainly isn't played at art shows. Or fashion shows. Never at hikes, paddles or when pleasure camping. Those are the kinds of things I go out for. |
