Perhaps the person who scored less well didn’t have access to test prep services, tutoring, loads of practice exams, etc. that taught various test taking techniques. Perhaps the person who scored less well didn’t go to a school that didn’t offer the same rigorous curriculum so was learning certain concepts for the first time during test prep. In any hypothetical you cannot control for every contingency. |
