Why weren't they "trespassing"? They were doing EXACTLY what the Black men were doing--being in the store without ordering anything.Don't you find it a bit ludicrous that white patrons are allowed to piss before buying coffee, or lounge around waiting for their friends to join them, but NOT these young Black men? Is there a posted time limit on ordering items at Starbucks? What prompted the barista to call the police, even though numerous (white) eyewitnesses said the men were doing nothing wrong? Why were the white women permitted to remain in the store without ordering anything if that constitutes "trespassing" for Black patrons? These are all very valid questions. |
