JUFJ endorsed him in 2016, he's not up for reelection this year. FWIW, JCRC also issued a statement that includes the following: "We were encouraged by the Councilman’s immediate willingness to meet with Rabbi Glazer, by his written apology expressing remorse, and by his expressed commitment to meaningfully understanding anti-Semitism and Jewish history. Councilman White also expressed his commitment to partnering with the JCRC to deepen mutual understanding between our communities and to combat anti-Semitism, racism and bigotry of all kinds. Finally, Councilman White has committed to accompanying the JCRC and other community leadership on a visit to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum, and to meeting and dialoguing with local Holocaust survivors."I think it is fair to say JCRC and JUFJ occupy different parts of the political spectrum, yet they seem to have similar messages. It is a small world if we both know people at JUFJ. |
