When I fly back from Tokyo I always take off at 10ish AM and arrive in Chicago at 7ish AM the same calendar day, after 12 hours in the air. This last time I saw the sunrise twice for the same day, once from my hotel room and again just before landing at O'Hare. Travelling east across the dateline is awesome.West, of course, sucks donkey balls, because you feel like you've been cheated a day (take off Wednesday evening, fly 13 hours, land three hours shy of Friday. Wtf happened to Thursday?). |
