That is not in and of itself not a good idea. Many regulations address real issues that the private sector either feels are too costly to them to mitigate (although they are causing them to begin with, water table pollution from fracking as an example) or things they do not give a damn about to begn with (i.e. Environmental damages from mountaintop or quarried mining...this isn't Canada where sands oil companies are required to restore ravaged environments by the actions of an government that cares enough to ensure restoration for the benefit of future generations....guess future generations don't matter when you're likely to impulsively nuke us all anyway) |
