When something doubles from 1 to 2, that's a 100% increase. Doubling from 1,000 to 2,000 is also 100% but is a lot more difficult to achieve. When the Fed opened the spigot to easy money after the 2008 pullback, it made the decision to allocate money from fixed income into equities much easier for institutional investors. |
