They are sacrificing Al Franken just to try to get at Moore and Trump, which is a mistake.

Not quite. They are replacing Al Franken with a Minnesota Democrat to be named later, in return for a slightly better shot at regaining control of one or two houses of Congress in 2018.

You may say that's not very nice to Al Franken. But then again Al Franken did a bunch of things that weren't very nice either.
