I don't know that the law was as stupid as it was uniquely crafted for a very unique set of circumstances. Show me where another nation's capital city is claimed by multiple "nations". Of course the United States could put it's embassy in any city. It seems that our law was crafted as a diplomatic tool to bolster Israel's claim to Jerusalem and to prod the Palestinians into a lasting peace. It's not met it's goal. |
