Considering that Trump is undoing 70 years of foreign policy, it's reasonable to assume there might be adverse effects to a decision that doesn't appear to be carefully thought out.

Muslims or Palestinians aside, realpolitik means considering what might happen if certain actions are carried out. I think Trump is playing to his evangelical base here at home, instead of any real concern for Israel's affairs of state.
