Posted by AlM on Wed Dec 6 15:02:40 2017 We don't have a good answer yet as to why Flynn would lie to the FBI to cover up his contacts with Russians, when those contacts had been authorized by higher-up people in the President-Elect's team. Why commit a felony to cover up an activity that might technically be a violation of the Logan Act but wasn't really anything reprehensible.Well, it looks like Flynn expected sanctions to be lifted on Jan. 21 or so, and this sanction repeal would allow a lucrative deal with Russia, sponsored by Flynn, to proceed. Hmm. I'm sure Mueller will find out who Flynn's co-investors were. I wonder if any of them were in a position to make sanctions go away. |
