The fact is you CAN be a conservative and still be solidly behind civil rights, support for a woman's right to choose, to support the aspiration of downtrodden people and to live up to the highest ideals of Abraham Lincoln, Charles Sumner, Thaddeus Stevens, Ben Wade, Zach Chandler and up and through Teddy Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower.
Implying that abortion would be among "the highest ideals of Abraham Lincoln" and many others listed there is . . . I'll think of the right negative adjective later.
