You can make that "baby with the bathwater" argument and of course you'd be wrong. Candidate Donald J. Trump understood how the system worked and he worked that system. He went to states up to election eve that his opponent took for granted. At the same time candidate Hillary Rotten Clinton took the same system for granted and in the final analys, didn't work it. You can claim that the system failed or you can correctly view it as the "system worked as designed" despite a fluke in the popular vote. |
