No, because the Halal standard is not as restrictive as the Kosher standard, especially the Glatt kosher standard

That's not a "because".

And the majority of Muslims do not think shellfish are halal, BTW.

Also, "Halal" does not require the OK of a Muslim authority, but I might be wrong about that

The USA has ISWA, Canada has HMA, et al.
