The estimated administrative cost for private insurance is 17%. Medicare's administrative cost is 2%. Doctor billing is a big cost because each insurance company has a different set of forms. Computer billing programs are a lot of money, even for a small practice. The computer billing program for single payer countries is usually open source - zero cost. |
