Many have pointed out the negative aspect of the opportunity offered by professional sports to low income groups. For every young person who has a successful professional career, there are hundreds who wasted a decade of their life trying but failing, when they should have been going to school and getting work experience instead.Middle class kids who try and fail at professional sports often have a network to all back on to help support them once they have clearly failed. Low income kids often don't. |
