Humane compared to what American slavery? All slavery obviously is bad but American slavery i'd say was probably the worst ever. Don't think there was another type of slavery as complete phyisically and culturally. The enslaved literally lost their culture, native tongue, not allowed to read or write, had to change their names, the whole idea of race was invented specifically for justification of enslaving blacks bc they were inferior. The roots of slavery exist till this day |
