If a vegan is strict enough he/she would not touch anything produced by an animal. That concern would primarily ethical, IMO. In some cases the non-flesh animal products are obtained by methods arguably disturbing in terms of animal welfare.Both my daughters are primarily ethical vegetarians of many years standing, but I would be upset if they went Vegan; it's a very difficult nutritional regimen, especial in growing years. |
