And the Mets won the World Series after having one of the all-time great seasons :)Even better for me, living in Southern California at that time, the L. A. Dodgers had a terrible season, finishing 1/2 game above last place (only because they had a game rained out (on the road I guess, certainly not in L. A.) and therefore lost one fewer game than the last place team in the NL West (San Diego?) This despite a 20 game winning season by one of the few Dodgers I liked, Fernando Valenzuela. I talked shit from late April through late October to the Dodger fans at work, it was great! (Alas, they got their revenge 2 years later. People in LA are fucking vindictive) >:( |
