The culture around moviegoing was different then. Now, if ot doesn't open with a new record, it's pulled and out on bluerY DVD in a heartbeat.Back in 1985, a successful film did tweleve weeks in theatres. If it was really big it merited a second run. A year ot two later that same film was out as a rental VHS then later by a few months at a reasonable sale price. |
