Michele Bachmann (R-MN) told reporters during Donald Trump's visit to Minnesota that she is now advising Trump on foreign policy matters. The former congresswoman who made a name for herself as a conservative ideologue and once falsely accused Clinton's adviser Huma Abedin of having family members affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood told Minnesota Public Radio that she was backing and advising Trump because he understood the threat of "radical Islam." He also recognizes there is a threat around the world, not just here in Minnesota, of radical Islam, Bachmann told MPR. I wish our President Obama also understood the threat of radical Islam and took it seriously. When she was in Congress, Bachmann visited the Middle East several times and on occasion sent messages to foreign governments that directly conflicted with the Obama administration's position. Bachmann was already advising Trump on evangelical voter outreach. |
