For your further amusement, let's set the wayback machine for 1984 and the infamous "Ken Thompson Hack." This is a bit technical, but something I tried out way back when and it's very much for real and has actually surfaced a number of times lately.The compiler is what takes all your lines of code and makes your final object code, known as software.
