No. He ran in 1965 as a Fusion candidate, i.e., Republican Liberal Party lines. Like Mitchell and Lagardia a before him. As I said, that was the only path to victory without the machine. Bloomberg did much the same thing. Giuliani OTOH was a true Republican.In Lindsey's second term he ran on the Liberal Party line only. |
