They exist to provide inexpensive labor where costlier labor would be unnecessary. They exist so people can learn skills that will enable employees to understand and thrive in the workforce. In the fast food industry, each minimum wage employee accounts for about $3000 of profit each year. The industry estimates that $15/hr will result in a $3000 per employee loss per year. |
