The starting salary for a Dallas officer right out of training is about $42,900, according to the city. Out of the 10 most populous cities in the Dallas area, that's the lowest. Most of the other cities pay between $50,000 and $55,000 for a new officer. Plano pays more than $60,000.Ft. Worth starting salary is just over $51,000 with additional pay if the officer is bilingual, or has a college degree. With what the cost of living is here those salaries aren't bad, especially when you factor in the benefits. And most cops earn overtime each month. |
