Scratch the scenario whereby the Republicans refuse to accept a Trump candidacy and Clinton wins by default.

It looks like Clinton will have to fight to get elected. That prospect should install as much confidence as having booked passage on the Titanic.

One reason the Republicans are uniting is that they sense Trump has a good shot at becoming President. Current office holders see their re-election prospects as being better by backing Trump than by ignoring him.
