He focused on what we all need to take away from it, and that's we found the means ro destroy ourselves. We were not ready aas flawed beings to have that power in the forties and we are not ready for it now. We need to cool this shit before we blow ourselves into ashes orevolve fast enough so we can comprehend the need to rid ourslves of this threat. (Trump's recent comments about eagerly using nuclear missiles in the Middle East should give us all pause for thought here)No, there was no apology. At the time it was thought that it would save lives. History hasn't shown that to be wrong. Had another nuke ever been made it would be a lesson learned. It wasn't. Now we have a presidential candidate willing to play fast and loose with global destruction. It's a major concern for everyone it seems besides a noisy minority of apparently highly unenlightened people in this country alone. Thank God President Obama delivered that speech when he did. It was quite necessary. |
