I'd rather take the risk of his getting elected than the risk of using extra-legal means to prevent it.Had the King of Italy used his reserve powers as Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces to stop the March on Rome, history would have turned out very differently. Had the spineless and weak-kneed, petty bourgeoisie liberals of the time refused to enter into coalition in Mussolini's first government (believing they could "moderate" him), history would have turned out very differently. |
