The comparison is silly. The issue with Costco and Amex is not the same as Blue Cross and Obamacare.

Any seller wants to accept credit cards in order to attract more business; and card issuers want to be attractive to the sellers to gain volume and fees.

In the case of Costco and Amex, Costco is a huge revenue stream for Amex but the two parties disagreed on the cut, so enter Visa. Costco is not dumping credit cards.

In the case of Blue Cross, they are retaining credit cards for the lines of business they still find sufficiently profitable. But not Obamacare, a line of business they no longer want to encourage. Obamacare is the issue, not the Credit Card fees.
