Right. I'm very thankful that I didn't have the misfortune of losing my job during those times. However, I can only imagine the thoughts of some of the millions who did lose their jobs at the time when the battle was on about extending unemployment benefits. So a person has lost their job, gone through savings, cashed in their 401k, and about to run out of money. Yet the bills are still there, family needs to eat etc. Then we have the GOP's solution to cut taxes, then those (wealthy and large companies) benefiting will eventually start spending/investing which in turn would create jobs, and problem solved. All of this to avoid extending unemployment benefits, as that also would make the recipients lazy/dependent on that gravy train and they wouldn't look for another job. So, the person is down on their luck, has to wait for tax cuts and the benefits to trickle down along with their representives essentially saying they can't be trusted with unemployment benefits. Nice!
