In 1968, the Lindsay Administration had the entire cast and crew of the musical Hair arrested and charged with obscenity. The courts took a dim view of this, and eventually,the play reopened, but my point is, the government has, in the past, acted against speech it felt harmed the public interest.What's happening today with guns, OTOH, is a public health issue, IMO. |
