You said that when the number of guns exceeds the number of people, that’s a problem. That’s what I was responding to. Not the issue that each gun should be registered.A buyback campaign is confiscation. Most buyback campaigns do not pay the gun’s full market value, and if they did, this would be an extremely expensive campaign. Finally, it is still confiscation to the extent that people might not want to sell their guns to the government, even if they were adequately compensated. Especially since they wouldn’t be able to use the money to buy an adequate substitute. |
