Military courts of appeal have noted that the right to a public court martial hearing is not absolute, and a court may, on occasion and with good reason, close the court martial. For example, parts of the Bradley Manning court martial were closed to the public. In the Khalid Sheikh Mohammed trial in a military commission at Gitmo, his sound was turned off at times so reporters and observers in other rooms could not hear. |
