It was a completely stupid thing to do. You or I would never do it, so why should she have? It calls a lot of things into question:1. Her common sense 2. Her ability to pick intelligent, effective advisers 3. Her ability to quickly admit that she was wrong and get past it The failures in the three areas above are quite significant. Whether or not they are significant enough that she shouldn't be President is something I'm not sure of. Whether or not they are significant enough to consider when weighing her against other candidates is something I am very sure of - YES. Whether or not some/many/all of the other candidates have done similarly stupid things, as someone else mentioned, is also a valid point. But to dismiss the whole thing outright as much ado about nothing is completely dishonest. |
