The only thing I learned about Rupert's yellow journalism is that it defies everything about journalism. It's opinion and not reporting. When you cover an event, especially one that is controversial, you present ALL sides of what occurred and without choosing one side over the other. You let the reader decide. And one of the other key things about journalism is that you never push one view over another, that's the reader's job."Our talking points and the other side should be shot" is not journalism. Rupert never learned that, he wanted to be the William Randolph Hearst of the latter 20th Century without benefit of a fox. Over two decades and change, I've seen more than enough thank you. |
