It isn't necessary to have a surgical center to clamp off a bleeder so the patient can be sent to a hospital ER for appropriate care. It doesn't require admitting privleges either. It is the single rare complication of surgical termination and of D&C for that matter. It is far more common in the latter. Different and less traumatic procedures have been used for terminations for very long time now. The equipment used for legal procedures wasn't utilized in the back-alley days. It's expensive and requires sterilization. You don't need a surgical center to do that either. |
