I ate fish that I caught out of the Passaic and lower Hackensack Rivers north of Newark because the water was barely flowing but flowing nonetheless. Full disclosure will inform you the water was brownish with zero visibility but the fish looked normal and appeared clean the operative word being appeared. The not well thought out decision to fish near oil refineries, the Hackensack River Port Authority Trans Hudson lift bridge, and the Harsimus Branch NS/CSX Shared Asset lift bridge in and of itself was not one of my better efforts.
