What's sad about this vote is that it was prompted by "fear".Opponents of the equal rights ordinance scared people into thinking that it would allow "men in women's restrooms" and that was their ENTIRE basis of opposition. Pedophilia is a problem, sure, but that's not what this ordinance was about. This ordinance was about protecting people from discrimination based upon who they are. |
