I objected to your characterization of victim, assumed vandals and the act that took place. N.B. I wrote "assumed vandals" because the perpetrators of the Boston Tea Party masqueraded as Indians. There were also the vandalism related to the Stamp Act protests a decade before. Tax collectors' homes were looted. Should we condemn the founding fathers? Your story isn't believable to me. That's the reason for my skepticism. Let me throw a few curve balls your way regarding what- if's to it. Is the Rabbi's house part of his Schul? It's not uncommon for a church to give its minister a house because he needs to be on call 24/7. If so, did that house enjoy a tax exemption. If so, why was it being used for political advertising? Suppose the neighbor two houses away wasn't connected with the Schul and paid full taxes. Suppose he was a follower of the American Nazi Party and he put up posters on his property. What do you suppose would happen? Finally, suppose the police chief had Nazi sympathies. He objected on "moral" grounds to investigate the vandalism against Jews. He also would forbid any police action in this case. Wouldn't Mike Huckabee come to the chief's defense as he has to Kim Davis'? Isn't that poetic justice? |
