You nailed it my friend and glad you understand where I'm coming from. One of my real angers today is that my party hardly mentions that we are the party of Lincoln and some don't act anything like him. I hate to say it but some Democrats seem to have adopted Lincoln more than some of my party comrades. Did you know that George McGovern idolized Lincoln, called him the greatest of all Presidents in a short book he wrote about him. That actor Gregory Peck built a log cabin in his back yard to honor the man? Though I am not like him and could never be in his class, Lincoln is my hero and I have a section of one of my rooms dedicated to him.Anyway, I'm proud to call myself a Lincoln Republican. |
