No, the abandonment of ideology (such as it is) has hurt the GOP. Pragmatism got us into WWII and that's a fact. The Democrats double and quadruple down on ideology and ram it down everyone's throat; please try to disagree with that—it's an ideological war that the left has won so completely it permeates both major "parties".Remember that one of the goals of the communists entered into the Congressional record of 1963 was: "Capture one or both of the political parties in the United States." Think they've succeeded? When you've surrendered public morality, how can you get it back by pragmatism? |
